Assistive and adaptive technology is technology that is designed to help individuals with disabilities. Assistive technologies range from hearing devices to even electric wheelchairs. Though I personally do not know anyone who has used assistive technology, I do recall seeing students in my prior high school using electric wheelchairs. Though this does not necessarily correlate to learning, it does make their learning experience easier as it assists them in getting from class to class, as our campus was very large. I don't believe I will have any challenges in using adaptive technologies in my classroom whatsoever. Making someone else's experience easier will relieve me as a teacher and it is something I will find myself doing with simple pleasure.
Growing up, I have witnessed how technology has become more and more important in education. I can't help but imagine what type of technological factors I will be using when I finally become a teacher. I most definitely know that like this week's assignment, I will be using many PowerPoint Presentations to present my lessons. I also know that I will be using interactive website such as Kahoot in order for students to engage in learning as a group and Quizlet to make their learning easier and to have their learning delivered more directly. With PowerPoints, as well, I can post them online on a class blog and have students access parts of the lesson from home.
I absolutely enjoyed using Wix to create a class blog. I didn't learn too much because I have previously used Wix to create a personal blog for another class. However, using a different blog template really does change the experience on Wix as every template maneuvers in a different way. Although Wix is somewhat complicated to use and time consuming, I can definitely see myself using Wix at a later time in my life, especially during my teaching career just like I did for the assignment.

  1. Hi! I really enjoyed reading your post! I think PowerPoint presentation is a great way of teaching a lesson in the classroom. I know I have always appreciated when teachers post PowerPoints than just notes on Word. It gives the teacher an opportunity to make notes creative and interesting. In PowerPoint, teachers can add pictures and videos to help their students understand the lesson a little better.
